mission statement
Outlet seeks to provide a creative environment and access to supplies for visual artists to develop their skills while working to serve both the campus and the wider Bay Area community by providing open access to arts education.
our program and goals
Established in spring 2015, Outlet is a student-run organization at the University of California, Berkeley that was founded out of a desire to create a more widespread and accessible arts community on campus and off. We offer free workshops and free supplies; all materials are provided for - all you need to do is ask! Through the leadership of our group heads, all campus community members are welcome to delve into and explore various forms of visual art and creative expression in a fun and supportive environment.
Outlet aims to represent a wide variety of art forms, and we invite each member to share their passion with the rest of the studio group. We welcome new ideas and new styles, allowing for a fluid change of styles each semester based on group interest. At the end of each semester, each group member is invited to showcase their work in a culminating public art gallery. Throughout the semester we also host socials outside of regular workshops so members can bond and make connections beyond art.

community outreach
We are dedicated to providing access to arts not only on campus, but also to the surrounding community. Through workshops and classes, we emphasize the importance of art as a form of self-expression and as a means to learn and grow from others, encouraging open communication and mental well-being. Through volunteer events, our members also interact with surrounding Bay Area communities which may have limited access to the arts and to an arts education. With art, we inspire students to think outside the box and express their thoughts in a positive manner through this creative outlet.
